Ambition, key targets & progress
Cordeel sustainability ambition statement
We believe our industry has both the responsibility and opportunity to be a force of good. As a family-owned group, we want to keep driving this transformation by:
Making our planet better: by drastically scaling our positive impact innovation efforts – from soil remediation to renewable energy solutions and carbon-negative construction materials – we lead the way towards a nature-positive future where buildings become carbon sinks and have a positive impact on their environment and surrounding communities.
Making a TCO-based approach the norm: by scaling our innovative financial models and taking into account the total cost of ownership of a building – also looking into the value and impact it brings across its entire life cycle – we create a fairer pricing mechanism that benefits all.
Empowering our people to make all of this happen. It takes a lot to become a pioneer that pushes an industry to become nature-positive. It takes even more to stay one: a shared mindset, courage and a culture that refuses to settle. That’s why we’ll do everything within our power to give our people the knowledge, skills, and technologies to keep building and scaling the solutions that will shape (y)our future.

High-quality waste treatment
Cordeel Group targets a 5% reduction in the percentage of non-hazardous waste directed to disposal by 2026, compared to a 2025 baseline. This target applies to all group operations in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Urban Mining & material recuperation
Cordeel Group commits to conducting a reuse audit on 100% of its demolition and large-scale renovation projects. This ongoing target ensures that reusable materials are identified and recuperated before any demolition or major renovation activity takes place, promoting urban mining and circularity in construction.
Reduce primary raw material input
Cordeel Group aims to establish a measurement system by 2027 to track the percentage of recycled content in purchased materials and the percentage of recycled or reused content in produced materials. This target applies to the C-construct and C-production divisions in Belgium and the Netherlands. While building this measurement capability, first actions to reduce primary raw material input will be taken along the way.
Become nature-positive by 2050
Integrate nature-inclusive building methods in our new own developments and design & build and construction teams projects
Safety of our workforce
Ambition: Zero lost-time accidents
- Progress 2025: 30 lost-time accidents –> -7 compared to 2024
Training hours
Increase number of training hours of all employees with 5% by 2026
- Progress 2025: 19,661.6 hours –> + 8.22% compared to 2024
Ethical behaviour
Targets
- No incidents of corruption or bribery: no incidents in 2025
- No breaches of social legislation: not monitored yet on group level in 2025
- 2026: The functions at risk received a ethical behaviour training
- 2027: All employees followed ethical behaviour training
Communities
Targets
- We communicate pro-actively with the surrounding communities about developments and construction works that might impact them
- We actively make our own developments available for temporary use in the period before renovation starts.
