Sustainability strategy
Sustainability strategy
Our sustainability strategy is structured around five pillars:
Climate, Circularity, Nature, Our People and Responsible Business.
Each pillar reflects an area where we have material impact, where we have set targets, and where we are taking concrete action.
This report covers each in depth.
Innovation and digitalisation run underneath and through all five, making each pillar more measurable, more credible and more scalable.
“Our people and innovation are the engine of sustainable growth.” Pascale Van Damme, CEO Cordeel Group
Cordeel sustainability ambition statement
We believe our industry has both the responsibility and opportunity to be a force of good.
As a family-owned group, we want to keep driving this transformation by:
Making our planet better: by drastically scaling our positive impact innovation efforts – from soil remediation to renewable energy solutions and carbon-negative construction materials – we lead the way towards a nature-positive future where buildings become carbon sinks and have a positive impact on their environment and surrounding communities.
Making a TCO-based approach the norm: by scaling our innovative financial models and taking into account the total cost of ownership of a building – also looking into the value and impact it brings across its entire life cycle – we create a fairer pricing mechanism that benefits all.
Empowering our people to make all of this happen. It takes a lot to become a pioneer that pushes an industry to become nature-positive. It takes even more to stay one: a shared mindset, courage and a culture that refuses to settle. That’s why we’ll do everything within our power to give our people the knowledge, skills, and technologies to keep building and scaling the solutions that will shape (y)our future.
Our approach to future-proof buildings
For us, a future-proof building is not defined by a single feature or a single phase.
It is the result of decisions made from the first day.
The visual below shows how Cordeel Group companies, services and initiatives connect across the full lifecycle of a project: from feasibility and design through construction and use, to the next life of the building and its materials.
